Been a while hasnt it..

Well I know we have been a bit bad at updating this blog and we need to get better at it so here we go.

We just got back from a mini vacation in River Falls State Park in Kansas. We rented a self contained cabin and had a relaxing time away from it all. And I mean away from it all. Its kinda weird looking around and not seeing anyone at all. or even hearing cars or planes. just crickets. We didnt even have cell phone service unless we walked up a hill and held the phone at a certain angle.
We tried swimming once but the 1st 20 feet into the beach was covered in sharp rocks kinda painfull on the feet. Andrew wasn't having it at all.
Michelle and Brendan sat outside one night and watched the shooting stars. There was some kind of celestial thing going on. There was a bunch that night.
Brendan and Bryan tried a spot of fishing in the lake, caught nothing at all!

Last Friday I took both of the boys to get the pictures taken. We went to Deanna Rose Farmstead, which is one of our favorite places. It was such a hot and muggy day and the boys were such troopers. My friend Sarah has just started her photography business and in exchange for me designing her logo, she took some pictures of the boys for me. I absolutely love Sarah's style of photography. Andrew seems to love sitting in the cooler on the deck for some reason. . Looks like we are going to need a bigger cooler.

Our trip to Omaha Nebraska

We finally were able to find a weekend to getaway so we loaded up the van and headed North to Nebraska. We satyed at a KOA campground just west of Omaha about 15 mins from the zoo. It was a nice little campground. very family friendly. they had a sing-a-long hayride ( we didnt do that), mini golf, a little country western concert, playground , campfire etc.

the next day we went to the Omaha Zoo and spent the whole day walkng around looking at the animals and the kids had a ball. Andrew thinks everything with 4 legs is a doggy.


We rode the choo choo but Andrew slept most of the way around. Brendan loved the Sharks, sting-rays. he bought a stuffed shark at the giftshop on the way out. he calls him sharkie.

The Belton school district had an Art Scramble last Friday. We weren't sure if we could go because of all our sicknesses but we managed to get there. I didn't realize how many works of art Brendan would have on display. There was a program as well but Brendan could not sing because of his coughing so we sat it out. I love kid's art.
